Government Funded Childcare at Stoborough Nursery

Stoborough Nursery is committed to providing high-quality care and education at an affordable cost for families in our local community. We achieve this through careful budgeting, parent/carer fundraising, and the use of Early Education Funding for eligible children. Families can also choose to pay for additional hours or services beyond funded entitlements.

Stoborough Nursery supports parents and carers in accessing all streams of Government Early Education Funding, including:

  • 15 hours (term-time only) for all families with children aged 3–4 years.

  • 15 hours (term-time only) for eligible 2-year-olds from families receiving certain additional support.

  • 30 hours (term-time only) for eligible working families with children aged 2–4 years.

Additional Childcare Support

  • We accept payments through the Government Tax-Free Childcare Scheme, where eligible working parents receive a £2 top-up for every £8 paid towards childcare.

  • Working families receiving Universal Credit may claim back up to 85% of eligible childcare costs.

Parents and carers are invited to make a voluntary contribution to support the financial sustainability of the nursery. This contribution is optional and is not a condition of accessing government-funded childcare.

The suggested amount is:

  • £1.50 per 3-hour session (morning or afternoon)

  • £3.00 per 6-hour session

Why Families May Choose to Make a Voluntary Contribution

Stoborough Nursery has proudly served children and families in Stoborough and the surrounding areas for more than 30 years, with a proven track record of delivering excellent early years care and education. Our families usually choose to make voluntary contributions because they help the nursery continue to offer the high-quality experiences and enhancements that set it apart.

Voluntary contributions help us to maintain and enhance the exceptional provision we offer, including:

  • A safe, loving and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and grow.

  • Fun, friendship and a homely atmosphere, supported by small group sizes and a maximum of just 20 children at any one time.

  • A graduate-led, experienced staff team skilled in meeting each child’s individual needs, building confidence and giving them the best possible start.

  • Enhanced adult-to-child ratios, enabling more interaction, personalised support and enriched learning experiences.

  • High-quality enhancements and activities designed to build children’s life skills and support their all-round development.

  • A strong school-ready programme to help children feel confident and well prepared for the transition to school.

  • Tapestry online learning journals, providing regular updates, termly reviews and a downloadable keepsake of children’s learning journeys.

  • Strong partnerships with families, local schools, external professionals and other early years providers to support the best outcomes for every child.

  • Family support, including an open-door policy, guidance on children’s development and help accessing additional support where needed.

  • A fantastic private outdoor learning area and daily opportunities for outdoor exploration and active learning.

  • A fully trained staff team, including first aid, food hygiene and specialist SEND training.

  • An inclusive and needs-aware environment, recognised with a Dingley’s Promise Mark of Achievement.

By choosing to make a voluntary contribution, families help us continue offering these enriched experiences, maintaining the warm, nurturing and high-quality environment that Stoborough Nursery is known for.
